Coventry City Council opt for Pinacl Solutions Wireless Networking as part of their long term plan for Mobile Working
Pinacl were successful in their bid based upon all facets of their tender response rather than simply price – e.g. their open communication with Coventry City Council and their commitment to the whole product life cycle.
Using Cisco access points and centralised controllers, Pinacl solutions installed a corporate Wireless Network which allows Council employees to access their information anywhere within the Council Buildings
In a bid to reduce operating business costs, Coventry City Council identified the need for mobile working; helping to reduce the cost of office moves and empowering their workforce to work anywhere. As part of their ambitious long term plans, they are replacing desktops with laptops wherever possible.
In order to achieve their long term goal, it was imperative to install a corporate Wireless Network solution across many of their inner city offices. Coventry City Council had little experience of Wireless and sought a partner who would work as a trusted advisor for design and more importantly reassurance that the network would be secure and Architectural Pattern 12 (Manual Y) compliant. As well as accelerating the move towards agile working, if the wired network was ever to go down, it was vital the wireless infrastructure would act as a Disaster Recovery solution to ensure that employees could continue to work as normal.
